Welcome and thank you for visiting The Waka Waka Project
***
Our name is inspired by the Swahili word for "shine" because we see education as a transformative beacon of light in people's lives.
Our work supports a small group of children (and their families) in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania and our goal is to foster--through education--the capacity for our students to have brighter futures and to become adults, parents, and leaders who bring lasting change to their communities.
We believe in the power of education and thank you for being here to learn more about our Project!
We invite you to browse through the site and to reach out to us with any questions or comments.
- Regina Guzman and Katie Moorehead, Co-Founders
